Job Description

Lead DevOps Engineer - Job Description

As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you are responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure that powers our applications. You will champion the transition to cloud-native architectures, automate deployment pipelines, and ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our systems. This is a high-impact leadership role where you will set the technical direction for CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code (IaC), and site reliability engineering (SRE) practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Strategy: Design and manage scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure) using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi).

  • Pipeline Automation: Architect and optimize robust CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid, reliable code delivery and minimize manual intervention.

  • System Reliability: Implement SRE best practices, including observability, logging, and automated monitoring (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) to ensure high availability.

  • Leadership & Mentorship: Guide the DevOps team, define engineering standards, and foster a culture of automation and collaborative "DevOps" philosophy across the organization.

  • Security & Compliance: Integrate security into the development lifecycle (DevSecOps), managing secrets, vulnerability scanning, and compliance audits.

  • Incident Response: Serve as a technical escalation point for critical system outages, leading root cause analysis (RCA) and long-term resolution strategies.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or SRE roles, with a proven track record of managing production-grade infrastructure.

  • Cloud Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.

  • Automation: Expert-level skill in scripting (Bash, Python, or Go) and CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins).

  • Leadership: Experience leading technical projects or teams; ability to mentor engineers and drive architectural decisions.

  • Networking/Security: Strong understanding of networking (VPCs, DNS, Load Balancers) and cloud security best practices.
