Job Description

As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a vital role in our engineering team, assisting in the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems and components. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers to translate conceptual ideas into functional products, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and quality standards. This role is ideal for a motivated professional looking to grow their technical expertise while contributing to innovative projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Development: Assist in creating mechanical designs, 3D models, and technical drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).

  • Prototyping & Testing: Support the build, assembly, and testing of prototypes to evaluate performance, durability, and compliance with design specifications.

  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, including bills of materials (BOMs), engineering change orders (ECOs), and test reports.

  • Analysis: Perform basic engineering calculations and simulations (FEA/CFD) to validate design integrity.

  • Collaboration: Participate in cross-functional team meetings, collaborating with manufacturing, electrical, and systems engineering teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturing readiness.

  • Problem Solving: Assist in identifying and troubleshooting mechanical issues during the product development cycle.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong fundamental knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.

  • Software Skills: Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or NX) and basic knowledge of FEA/Simulation tools.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical concepts clearly to team members.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to break down complex problems and propose practical, effective solutions.

  • Tools: Familiarity with standard shop tools and laboratory equipment for hands-on prototyping.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship or project-based experience in a product design or manufacturing environment.

  • Basic understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

  • Experience with rapid prototyping techniques, such as 3D printing or CNC machining.

  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ASME, ISO, ASTM).
