As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert, driving complex mechanical design projects from conceptualization through to production. You will mentor junior engineers, define best practices, and ensure that our engineering solutions are innovative, robust, and cost-effective. This role requires deep technical acumen and the ability to oversee multidisciplinary projects that integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components.
Project Leadership: Lead the full lifecycle of complex mechanical projects, from initial scoping and requirements definition to final validation and manufacturing handover.
Design Ownership: Oversee complex 3D modeling, detailed assemblies, and technical drafting. Ensure all designs comply with industry standards (e.g., ASME, ISO, ASTM) and safety regulations.
Advanced Analysis: Perform high-level engineering simulations (FEA/CFD) and tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure product performance under extreme conditions.
Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and peer review for junior engineers; foster a culture of engineering excellence and continuous learning.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with electrical, firmware, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless product integration and Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM/DFA) optimization.
Supplier & Vendor Relations: Coordinate with vendors and manufacturing partners to source components, troubleshoot fabrication issues, and maintain high quality control standards.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
Experience: 6+ years of relevant industry experience in product design, machine design, or manufacturing engineering.
Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Creo, or NX) and expert-level skills in FEA/CFD analysis tools.
Manufacturing Knowledge: Deep experience in DFM/DFA, including familiarity with CNC machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, and additive manufacturing.
Leadership: Proven ability to manage project timelines, budgets, and technical teams effectively.
Standards/Compliance: Solid understanding of industry safety standards and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
